Marcia C. Green
In the early ‘70’s, after graduating with a masters in economics from NYU, Marcia made her way west to Denver. The employment market was dismal so she took a job as a secretary in a commercial mortgage banking firm. The position gave her good experience in underwriting commercial real estate transactions, administering commercial construction loan draws and closing commercial real estate transactions. From mortgage banking, she made the transition to the real estate department at First National Bank of Denver in the Credit Department working on underwriting both real estate and commercial banking loans. Then in 1977 she joined the Real Estate Group there first as an Assistant Relationship manager and later moved up to be Relationship Manager responsible for a portfolio of commercial loans of over $300 million.
In 1983, she left commercial banking for a brief stint in commercial mortgage banking but by 1984, she was lured back to bank lending by her former manager at FNB.
Her career in banking has allowed her to work with a variety of different developers in both the homebuilding and commercial real estate industry. With the exception of two years working for the small Omnibank Southeast before it became Key, she been employed by major regional banks and worked on major commercial real estate transactions.
It was by accident that Marcia started in commercial real estate, but by choice that she has continued her long career as a Commercial Real Estate lender. Although she has always been based in Denver and now concentrates on Colorado-based real estate developers, for a number of years, she had the opportunity to work with developers on commercial real estate transactions throughout the US.
